Best places to sell a 280ZX?

I've posted my '81 280ZX on 3 craigslists ads (in nearby cities), 3 Z-forums, 2 import forums, and I've yet to get any real deals so far (mostly people who randomly stop replying to my messages or guys wanting me to ship to Kuwait). The cars in perfect shape besides some rust that's popping around the car and a few minor interior things. I've mostly been looking to trade for an automatic Z-car (don't ask), and even then I'm not getting offers. I figured people would be dying to get rid of their auto Z's for a nice 5-speed 280ZX. What am I doing wrong? I've posted the price as $2500, but I don't really expect to sell, I'm mainly looking to trade. Is there just not a lot of Z-fans in Central Florida?

Here's my thread in the ZDriver Marketplace to show you what I'm working with.

Ebay is another option, but doesn't guarantee that it will sell for $2500 (or hit reserve).

Post one of your craigslist ads so we can take a look.

One word for you. Canada.

There's one of them.

Hum... no bites at all? That is crazy. It's in quite good shape too. If you're not in a big hurry just keep listing it. You might need to lower the price too.

Yeah, the padre is quite intent on not letting me sell the car for what I think it might actually sell for, so I've been hoping there'd be trade offers. I just leave it at that price in the hopes that if someone REALLY wants to buy it, they'll pay that.

try the midwest, so long as you dont have a lot of rust, thats what we're looking for up here.

Mention more positive aspects of the car. Keep the faults simple and quick.

Back off a little with the camera an get some wide shots of the whole car with the hood down. Post those pictures on the craigslist ad but keep the link to the other pics.

and I hate to be the one to tell you that you've never seen a 280zx with a lot of rust. :D His car isn't in THAT bad of shape, and definitely not "parts car" status. Almost all of the rust on his car can still be taken care of quite easily. Try a 280zx with no floor boards, frame rails, quarters, fenders, and hood. :D

His car is fine for a FL car.

Let's say I remove all rust from the car, repaint it, clean up the engine bay a bit, fix the AC, repair the cracked dash, and keep the mileage about the same (it's around 84,000 at the moment). What kind of selling price am I looking at? I'm in Central Florida btw.

Not enough to make back what you will have spent on labor & supplies. Rust removal is expensive & time consuming. If you are a good fabricator & body man, you could do it yourself & save a lot of money.

I'm hoping I'll be able to save money on the rust repair by finding donor panels for cheap.
