Auto Climate Control - Problems
 

Just got my hands on the Z I had in High School (well her sister car). First problem is the temperature adjustment for the ACC:

- I can have hot OR cold. Not adjusting or mixing
- On the drive home I noticed a strange noise from the dash (by glove box). It sounded like a loud tape deck rewinding. Today it was cold and it was very loud. From what I can find here it sounds like maybe it's the aspirator fan?

Could it be possible that if it is the aspirator fan it would prevent the temperature adjustment from working? Or do I have bigger problems.

- The noise is there with and without the blower running. I pulled the fuse for the blower motor just to see and the blower still ran??? Huh???

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The ACC is quite sensitive. :D It requires vacuum to function. Do all the different vents work as you move the slider?

Yes defrost, split, auto speeds work just fine.

Read every post I could find, studied the all the service manuals and just took out the glove box. It is the aspirator fan.

Cleaned, lubed and reinstalled. Good news it is less noisey. But still makes noise. Ordered a new one. Takes over three weeks. bummer!

dang, should have switched to the manual heater selection system. Good luck though with that one! :)
