Anyone know where the door warning buzzer is?
Does anyone know where the buzzer device, that makes the noise when the door is open, is located, or what it looks like? I'm wanting to cut the wire to it, or otherwise disable it. But I have no idea what I'm looking for or how far up in the dash's guts it is. I don't want to just cut the wire at the door trigger near the sill, since that messes other things up (a false signal to the alarm).

I know on my 1982 it is right under the cover under the driverside of the dash. Just remove the panel under the dash...2 screws and pull it over the hood relese handle...there should be some vacuum lines on the right side of the panel and two wires to the light so be careful how you take it down. While the door is open poke your head under there and listen and feel around for it..I am pretty sure it is a black box type of thing at least thats where I hear and feel the noise coming from on mine...I belive it has more than one wire going into it.

Mine quit the other day, when I put my carpet, and floormats in. He he, pretty cool. And I was like, what happened to the chime? And I said cool, don't have to hear that annoying thing anymore. But yeah I am pretty sure it is where thxone said it was. Under the driver's side of the dash, I believe towards the firewall.

there are three wires that go to in from the door switch. Just cut the red wire. Lights stay on, but buzzer shuts up.

blue or somthing, i realy only remember the red wire. I remember it from having to trace it. On my 2+2 i just remove the rear speaker cover and there right there. 2seater's are a lil harder i believe. The switch it's self can come out, just remove the robber boot carefully. and pop her out. There's three wires going to the switch, Red, i think blue and black. The red one is the Key

I found the little bugger last night. It was some kind of dual-box assembly about 3" long with a white plug with 3 wires going to it. I just unplugged it, and the noise stopped. ^_^
