80 280ZX will not start
 

My 80 280ZX started and ran fine up until last week. Went to start, no crank, tried it many times and then smoke came from the EFI relay. In addition, no sound of the fuel pump turning when I placed the inigition switch to on. I have replaced the EFI relay and the engine now cranks but does not start. No sound of the fuel pump turning with inigition on but it does seem to pump if I crank for awhile. Is this a control unit problem? should I look at something else for the problem before I replace the control unit?

This is an update. With the EFI relay repalced, the engine will crank but still not start. Pulled a fuel injector electric line and hooked up a small 12v bulb to it. While cranking no light from the bulb. If I read the book right, this means something is wrong with the control unit?? Any other ideas out there.:confused:

go check your fusable links.. you shorted something for daymn sure.. now the fun part is trying to trace what shorted.. start off by checking your fusdable links and all your fuses.. just hope you didnt fry your ECU..
