Here's the 351 Modified that's to be put into my Z. Fresh rebuild. Everythign in the heads are new. Intake was polished. New carb. New fuel pump. New paint. New rebuilt C6/w overdrive trany. 0 Miles. Only catch. The guy(good freind of mine) cut a corner and used the old rod's. Started it, heard a light knock. shut it off. Now it's mine. New set of rod's, and it's ready to go.

The sun got in the way a few times. But for a Phone, i'd say those are good pic's.
Long stroke, Low RPM's, lot's of tourq. Good for just riding around town

how well do you know and trust this guy??? I only ask because it's odd that he'd go new on everything but the old rods. Not that they werent adequate...but if he put as much attention into this build as you make it sound like he did then it doesn't make sense that he wouldn't atleast check to make sure the rods were within useable specs. The engine isn't going to knock just cause the rods are used. Something has to be out of whack. And if he didn't bother to ATLEAST make sure his old used rods were in good shape and within useable specs, then what makes you think everything else is up to snuff??? I'd be cautious with this one. If it's free then theres nothing to lose really. But take the motor apart BEFORE you order a set of rods and check EVERYTHING over first.
Well. i hate to say it. But i just don't have the resources to do this swap at this time. I had bigg hopes for this swap. But i just can't do it. So it looks like more fighting with my good ol L28E
