280zx without bumpers
Hey i'm a newbie here, just picked up a 81 280zx N/A 5spd last week. The bumpers kinda make me sick looking at them and i want to go for the open front 240z look. Anyone got any pics of how it would look without the front or both bumpers?
yeah those are very nice....
if you take off yer bumpers its gonna look ugly...theyr not meant for removing really...its not like 240's where they have that classic look and its nice....with the 280zx's its ugly i had mine of just horrible (at least to me) just try to make them clean looking like gerry over there thats nice.....
hey howd u make em like that just put fiberglass over top and molded it on? are the old ones still under there or whats up?

Those fiberglass look bumpers look hot Gerry, did you make those yourself?
Mine looks just like the black one the pic above minus the air dam and i still got my stock black faded bumper.
How about a chrome bumper kit and fabricating a front grill with housings for parking lamps? hmmmm

Thanks for the complimets guys.
I had the same problem ugly bumpers - I bought 4 bumpers trying paint them, etc. -- before going to fiberglass
Both the front and rear fiberglass bumpers are from MSA. I bought their aero kit and just took a sabre saw with a metal cutting blade and cut off the lower portion -- most of it - and threw it away keeping only the bumper only. MSA cast a groove into their units making it easy to follow when cutting. Took less 15 min each.
I'll post the rear one now
