280zx gone

Ok my wife wrecked the 280, she is in the hospital and has 2 fractured vertebra T-10 and T-11, doc says she can heal. The car rolled in a field. Thing is I cant get our stuff out of the car until the Tow is paid.... anyone need parts? If you want to see pics they are on myspace http://www.myspace.com/dennisfry in my pictures. I am in Goldsboro NC. I dont want anything else to do with the car, just to get our stuff out of it! I have a set of T-tops, distruibiter, igniton coil, both gauge clusters all spare that can go with the car. Let me know if anyone is interested in helping me out... I have enouph to worry about taking care of my wife, let alone a $225 tow bill. I can put about $50 on it thats all. The first person to show up gets it all.
Mods- sorry if this was an inappropriate post
Zdrivers, sorry looks like it was meant for me to drive a CRX after all.

Im sorry to hear about your wife. Seeing those pics and seeing the wrecked Z's in the yards makes me wonder about the structural integrity of the t-top models in a role over.
What speed was she going? I dont mean to pry, just that your wife's accident just makes me wonder about my own safety

She was going about 55, it just changed from 45 to 55 and she was way early so I know she was not speeding so 55-60. She also said she was not shure if she hit the brakes or the gas when it began.
The only problem I had with the car was its twitchy steering, wich I belive to be the cause to this accident. And the car came to a rest on its wheels thank goodness.

The car actually looks to be in pretty good shape for having rolled over. I hope your wife gets better soon. Sorry about the Z

Hope your wife gets better soon.

The tow company shouldn't be keeping you from getting your personal items from the car, only stuff that has been added, stereo, alarm, wheels, stuff like that.

What kind of personal stuff is left? Check book, precription drugs, wallet, purse, cd's. They cannot keep you from your personal items.

I know that towing co. have policies where they are not responsible for personal items but keeping them doesn't seem legal.

If you can't pay, then I would think they just keep the car.

I think you should call the police about this and they can send someone with you to retrieve your personals or give you advice.

Wow, that looks horrible. I'm really glad to hear she is alright, for the most part, it looks like it rolled mostly towards the front and not as much where she was.

Hope she gets back to her old self asap.

And I'm also interested in a bit of the car... I know it says first to come gets it, would you bother sending anything? such as a wheel?

That is rotten luck! Sorry to hear that she is all banged up, but glad to hear that she will be allright. Hey, dont worry about the ZX, thats why you have insurance. Cars can be replaced, loved ones cannot. When a man totalled my 300zx, the tow company let me get my personal belongings out, but he and i took an inventory of all the stuff in the car and we signed a sheet listing what i had removed. See if the tow company will let you get out personal items under those conditions. Wish you both the best, and hope that one day you'll get back into a Z. I've totalled two, neither my fault, and each time i look for another one.

We only kept liability on it.. did not make sence to spend more on premiums than it would take to replace the car itself. Also as a $400 purchase it was either going to be a disposable car or one heck of an investment. I will trade any car for my wife, again and again. That is a given. As far as getting the car out, I should have it home by tomorrow. Parting the car is my goal once it arrives here so I am shure wheels will go. Hoov I can only guess that LMK means look me up? I had a 300 a few years ago but with the huge pile of parts I will be getting I might have to look for a good body with a blown motor. Any way it works out she wont be happy the car is back at our house and I cant blame her. I dont know if she will get out tomorrow or make it on Wed. Thanks for your support, it is appreciated.

I hear ya rod. Well I got the car towed back to the house.. she is gonna kill me for that, but at least I can recover some money by parting it out. Maybey even find a frame with no motor to swap into... if this one works. I will try to start it after I can get the hood open. I have to get a car cover so she dosent have to look at it, I know it will bother her. She continues to improve and was back on regular food as of last night... I got her arbys. Ok so once I get some free time it will be getting stripped of anything not busted. Not like that is gonna happen ever so fast, but it can. Oh and to my suprise all my stuff was there. I think that my having taken pictures of the car may have helped that one, that and the fact that if it was going to go missing they could have done it when they towed it. If anyone is in need of a tow in the Goldsboro NC area I would reccomend a company called two bit tow (yellow pages)... they did for 55 what the others charged 185 for! Gotta love those good old boys with a winch on a flatbed trailer!!!!
Thanks for everything, I will eventually post parts and will always reply to PM's for parts.
Till next time
Dennis
