i just pick up an 79 datsun 280zx and it has a stock l28 in the car from what i know is it has 135 hp stock but i'm swaping the l28 to an 77 280zx motor the motor has 177 hp stock should i do the swap or should i keep the l28??? plz help me out

 

Technically the rating system changed between the S30 and S130 if you want to go by the same rating the S30 uses, technically the 280ZX engine makes 183HP
So keep the L28E (the 79 280ZX motor)

Through 1980 the 280Z and 280ZX used the same engine. 1981-83 had the higher output.
