Hello, I own a '83 280zx & my radio shuts off while driving around or just waiting at a light & turns back on on its own. Is this the radio itself or the wiring harness... I checked the radio connections & they are tight. I want to know if anyone else has had this problem & their solution.. Thanks.

 

Check the ground and your power wires for bad connections or pinches (tight bends) in them. Since the wires are old, they tend to become picky about what position they are in. I had to replace several of the wires with fresh ones. A bad ground could cause the radio to turn on and off too. Good luck.
