280 zx high idle
 

my 79' idles at 1300-1500 all the t8ime. i have o get it down to 900 before i can get it inspected and actually drive. the point on the idle screw in the engine might have been filed off by the last owner i dfont know.
what is the srew supposed to look like, rounded or point?
what are the other thing to look for?

I'de suggest getting a Hanes manual for a 280z/zx from your local auto place. Thatt'le give you a picture showing you what it looks like and how to fix it.

If it's simular to the 240Z's you can adjust it near the firewall. I have a 280ZXT in mine and had to make the same adjustments. Also check you timing it may be advanced.
