240sx TB any others?
Question. I've seen that the 240sx TB bolts up to the intake with a spacer. Is there any other TBs that will work? Are the 84+ TBs any bigger? I have a ton of those at my local bone yard.
Is there anything I can use from those newer Zs?

Still new to the engine codes here. What cars had KA24DE / SR20DE? How would I tell a webber 60 from others? What cars did they come in?
Nismo, your the info man. You remind me of a guy on my F-bod boards. He is a good guy too, willing to share data/info. Thanks!

Werd.
The KA24DE came in the 240sx's. SR20DE came in the G20's. The Webber TB was an aftermarket TB. MSA & BDA sells them sometimes.
EDIT... remember just adding a 60mm TB will do nothing for you. It should be used w/ other mods to increase air flow.

The 240SX TB just happens to line up just right, but is about an inch shorter than the 280ZX TB necessitating the spacer.
The Weber "Big Throat" TB was made specifically for the 280ZX and is a direct bolt-on, although I had to use a linkage from an XJ6 Jag to make the throttle cable fit perfectly.
Weber no longer makes this part, which is why the 240SX option is the most popular as it requires the least amount of machining to make the spacer making it very affordable and the large number of 240SX's available in the junk yards provides an easy place to source the TB for cheap as well.

Yep very aware of minimal gains. I also found a use for my stock injectors that came off my TA. I didn't know they would fit with the addition of a rail. Sweet!
Just planning on Cam, headers and TB for the time being. Funny I owned a G20 like 2 mos ago and junked it, spun a rod, a week later in-law gave me the Z.
I at least know there are a few G20s & 240s in my bone yard here.

Trust me I thought about ALL THAT! But the Trans wouldn't hold HP, TOO much sludge in the heads and wipped out the cam, so I got other ones for $10 at the bone yard and man the car woke up but I knew it was a matter of time before it went. Sure enough....I look at it this way I bought it for $200 got a free pearl white paint job(buddy), got ac working cold while I rebuilt my TA engine. Looked good outside but inside was rough so after all that I still got 150 from the junk man...Oh well....Look at it this way if I had the G20 there would be no Z.
