1982 Rack and Pinion install

Hey guys,
Has anyone done a rack and pinion install on their 280zx? I't took me a while to track down a rebuilt rack and pinion, but I've got it now and about to undertake it's installation. I'm pretty much looking for a step by step guide (a Youtube video would be great!) on the removal and installation of a rack and pinion for a 1982 Datsun 280ZX. I had the front of the car up on jacks (positioning the jacks at the points indicated in the manual to use when changing the tire - the points located on the 'ribbon' where the fender is attached to the body at the base of the fender under the front part of the doors). However, I noticed keeping the jacks there for an extended period seems to cause a flexing of the body. The fender panel was no longer aligned with the door after removing them a week later. I tried to jack it up using the rail underneath the car that runs from the rear up to just under the where the front seats bolt to the floor. Doing this began crushing the metal rail - I figure it's possibly rust underneath the paint and undercoat, but haven't peeled it back to inspect yet. I'll repair it later. I'm just looking for another way to safely jack the car up and keep it up without bending the frame. I'm working on this when I have the time, so not looking to constantly jack the car up and put it back down every time.
Any help will certainly be appreciated!
