just how rare are they?? Anyone seen one personally? also, check out this thread POST 2. ZX-R maybe?

An original blue with silver hood is not a ZXR paint job. Nissan says they made 1001 of them.
I have a fax copy from Nissan listing all 1024 ZXR VIN numbers from the factory. Maybe 23 of them were used in racing.
I had thought about typing all those vins out...

I Imagine the car is gone but do you have pics still if so can you email them to me Reason I just got a 79 280ZX and it is silver with different colored strips etc on the side and on the hood scooop,plus all of it is flacking off and under this it shows a color of blue.my email is mrmichaelchilders@msn.com thanks

I have a silver headlight bucket on my turbo parts car with two-tone blue stripes around the edges. It is not the ZXR style though.
but ya, now I see the second post. it could be a ZXR. Too bad he didn't mention a rear spoiler. Maybe he thinkgs all 280ZX's have one.
