12 second zx?
so i have this little cousin who drives a z28 and clams to run low 12s... and well i simply cant have him beat me.... so i need to get my Z to low 12s! running 15s at the track now (on blad tires). but i need more power!

lulz.... break open the wallet. :D
You will probably need 350-400hp unless you can magically lighten your car about 500lbs. You'll never get 400hp from an L28E non-turbo. $10k will get you (reliable) 400hp on an L28ET. Or you could just bastardize (trailer / track queen) your Z and throw in a light weight blown LS or LT for $7k-$10k. |
just drop a tb48de-t into it.

As much of a hard core Nissan nut I am... and the RB26 is a wicked engine..... a 2JZ can make some pretty wicked numbers on a stock bottom end...

Pardon my thread jack...

What kinda upgrades would that take to fit in? aren't those from a supra :armata_PDT_35: ? lol

Mostly everything would have to be custom made dog
What year is his Z28? I was dropping my girlfriend (at the time) off for work, first week with my Z, and some second generation Z28 (Late 70s) thought that a race at like 4pm was necessary, and I had my turbo badges on and everything, I know that some of those Camaros have like low 140-160hp, this must have been one of them. Like Nismo will say on every "I want power, how can I..." thread, you just need to open your wallet and ask. Edit: Also, if you think you need to be better than that dude, then the L28et wont cut it, 2jz for you. |
i have a close friend who has a rusted out zx that runs 11's. stock auto trans to keep the boost up on a slapped together motor. been doing it that way with no changes or breaks for about 4 years now. keeps winning the import class at my local strip here in mission.

I'm intrigued. Those engines can't take very high boosts even from good aftermarket turbos, did he just strip off everything but the bare necessities?

woah, I'd never heard of that happening… my apologies, that could be fun
like how many PSI can an L28 handle with a good setup? |

Proof or even evidence that there is proof, or a video or timeslip that either of those vehicles listed are doing the times you stated. I'm not calling anyone out, but when someone makes claims like that without showing some evidence of it being true, I can't help but raise the BS flag until proven otherwise. |
my thoughts exactly
