$5,500.00!!! :)
So, there's a guy offering to pay me $5,500.00 CASH for my 280ZX. I know I have said I would keep it, I know I put a lot more than that in to it... but, I also know that 5.5K is a lot more than I would probabaly EVER get back out of it. Especially, in light of it's current so/so condition. This is insanely tempting! I don't know what to do, but I need to act quick if I'm going to accept the offer. Damn! I could buy a pretty clean Z32 with that kind of dough, or a clean 280ZX turbo in really good condition. This sucks. I don't know what to do. My wife may kill me if I sell it.

It sounds like you'd be better off turboing your current ZX. It'd be a lot cheaper, and would be really awesome that way, but that would be a hard deal to pass up. Although it's possible that it'd be cheaper to just get a turbo car and work it up to where your car is at now. So it's really hard to say. It's your Z man. So it's up to you.
For $5500 you could definitely find a turbo 280zx. On top of that, for that price you could find one with a really good BLACK interior already in place. And you'd probably have a little money left over to put into it too (like a set of 17's
).
I'd jump on $5500 for mine but it's not in nearly the condition of yours. I know that with that money I could buy an immaculate 280zx with low miles. I would never sale my 280zx unless it was to replace it with a better one

5500, yeah I would sell mine. Then find another and start all over. And yes, you will be sad when and if it goes. You put alot of blood and sweat and probably some tears into it. So it will probably be emotional. Good luck on your decision
Oh man Rod, you know how I feel, considering you were a big part on me restoring my 280zx. I would hate to see you sell it, but it is your car. Me personally, it still would be tough, to sell mine. Even though I know he isn't worth much to the general eye. Considering the time, and work I have spent on him over the past year. It would really hurt me to sell him, because I have developed a strong bond with my Z. We are buddies, and he is a great car, and is treating me good. Because I have done the same with him. Probably more than any of the previous owners have done with him.
But don't let my words lead you astray, and determining your decision. I am not in your shoes, so I don't know how you feel right now. But I hope you think hard on this, and make sure that the choice you make. Will be the one you will not regret down the road.

Wow, that's some pretty ca$h for the car.
If I were you, and I needed the ca$h, I would sell it. If I really did't need the ca$h (that much
) I would not sell it - kinda sucks selling or giving away so many years of work, pride and accomplishment on a car like that. But that's just me

I Couldn't do it guys... I just couldn't do it. I went to wash it yesterday and while I was there I realized that there was no way I could allow myself to part with it. I don't need the money, It was just such an incredible offer and caught me off gaurd enough to make me momentarily dizzy I guess. The guy was really bummed when I told him it wasn't going to happen. Once again... thanks everybody for the comments.

I am glad you didn't sell it. But now, in the future all ways have a price ready. Say like 8,000 $ or something really off the wall. You never know how much people are willing to spend. They can't do the work themselves, or don't want to, so to get a machine like your's, they have to pay for it. And most of the time they will pay well. And if they don't like the price, don't negotionate, say that's fine and have a nice day.
There is only 1 car that I regret selling. My 87 Grand National GNX. I should never have sold it. But someone offered the cash, and I said okay. The only thing is that I will never be able to replace that car.

Wheww Rod, I Was Worried, Glad To See You Kept It, Now Youve Tried This Twice, So Now Next Time It Happens Look Up This Thread And The One From When You Got The Z32 And Read Them Carefully. Then Youll Realize What To Do And Then Post Again And Everybody Will Say The Same Things As Last Time And Then Hopefully You Wont Want To Sell It Until Next Time!!!!

i dont know why i put those smilys there
