Workin on goin broke... again

SPEED, has been helping me work on getting my new engine setup, using an EFI L28 out of a 1977 280Z, BLEACH has been kind enough to give me some advice however I am kinda lost on the head I have it has what looks like steel inseets on the exhaust ports, I assume those can be removed?

Those inserts can be removed but you probably should just leave them there. They aren't that big of a deal in the long run. People have raced the L28 with those in place. Just work on porting the intake ports a little and leave the exhaust ports stock. Headers, 2.5" pipe, cam, and whatever else you decide.

If you do remove the inserts, it will be a lot of work getting them to come out. You'll then have a long job of cleaning up the exhaust ports in the head.

I've heard that people who have tried to remove them have usually f***ed up the head. The few successful removals offered very little advantage over just leaving it alone.
