T3/04 hybrid

Hey turbo guys, check this out. Is this still compatible with our motor or would other modifications have to be made?

It would be compatible. The only things I see needing modifications to work are the downpipe to turbo connection since that turbo is a 5 bolt face and a not a 4 bolt face like the stock downpipe. The intake pipe would have to be modded to fit the larger inlet and the wastegate might have to be mounted with a bracket to fit. I think that's about it. It's basically the same kinda turbo I have, except for the downpipe face.

I was under the impression that the t3/04 was generally a direct bolt on upgrade. Is that usually the case and this one has been modified or do the modifications you mentioned above always have to made when upgrading to the t3/04 turbo?

Yeah, I thought the same thing too when I was getting the turbo. It does "bolt on" to the exhaust manifold , but there was some work required to get it to run. Like the stock rubber intake pipe that connects to the inlet, it's too small so I had to trim it and use 3" heavy duty rubber to connect it. The wastegate had to have a bracket made so it would work. The only thing that is different from the turbo you're looking at and mine is the exhaust part, where the downpipe meets the turbo. Mine only had 4 bolts. Here's a pic of the exhaust side of my turbo. I'll dig around to see if I have more pics of my turbo.

Here's another picture of the turbo. You can sorta see the wastegate bracket that had to be fabbed up.
