Removing Speed limiter

I am posting this for a friend. He has an '83 n/a 280Z and he'd like to remove the speed limiter if possible. I did a search but came up with nothing.

Is this possible? If so, where is the best place to get this done? I'm guessing it would require re-chipping the ECU but I don't know for sure.

Oris there a restrictor of some sort somewhere?

ah, so you must have the digital dash. Your friend's car should not have a speed limiter. But the gauge will not read past 85mph.

Swap in analog gauges from a 1979 280ZX or get a separate speedometer on the side.
