Been working on the same problem for a couple weeks, I even took it to a Nissan dealer and after 4 hours they still had no idea as to what was wrong!

I'm running out of things to check and or replace:
Filters
Plugs wires cap rotor
IC & adjusted Air Gap
Coil
AFM
TPM
FPR
Sensors
Cleaned every electrical connector
PVC
Checked all the vaccumn lines
I even called it every nasty name I could think of and still nothing!!

Took out the distrubitor today, turned it upside down and stuff started falling out! As I started taking it apart I found pieces of the magnet pick-up assembly missing, I also found out the vacuum advance wasn't working, ordered a replacement let you know when it arrives and I put it in.
