New fuel pump in ,is backwards?
 

Hi I have a 81 280zx turbo ,one day I went to turn the key and I didn't hear the hum of the fuel pump hung my head and verified the pump was bad and it was. I ordered a quote OEM and it is smaller but I put it in, didn't know what wire is what but because they are not marked on the motor I figured I have 50% . Wired it up turned the key and heard hum and it started! It sounds great in park. Drove it and it almost stalls when I give it gas. Is it wired backwards?.. I will change filter .

disconnect the fuel hose from the fuel ring and see if gas even comes out. listening is little help in discovering flow and pressure from a pump. while doing that put in a pressure gage to determine what the pressure is.
