New to forum need BIG help

I have an 82 zx soon to be s/c'd and am having severe tranny probs. When I accelerate between 2200 & 3300 rpms my car shakes and rumbles from where the clutch is. Had it in gear, running, on a lift and diff. shakes real bad to.. This all happened after I got the output shaft seal replaced.. Any suggestions???

Yes, whoever replaced the output shaft seal put something back together wrong. Something is now out of balance which will cause a vibration all up and down the driveline.

That's what I thought but I saw no wieghts on the drive shaft... My old one had small pieces of metal welded to it. but this one does not. do you think it could be anything else??

Maybe you got the wrong drive shaft. Early ones are shorter. Put it back up on the rack and check for play at both ends. Look for signs that the weights might have been knocked off. Put in neutral with engine off and rotate the rear wheels and check for concentricity of all the shafts.

ACTUALLY IT IS ALL BEING TAKEN CARE OF TOMORROW... LONG STORY SHORT.... I HAVE HAD MY TRANNY REBUILT 4 TIMES BY THE SAME PLACE, AFTER THE THIRD I DECIDED TO CUT MY LOSSES AND HAVE THEM PUT ORIG. TRANNY BACK IN... PUT IT BACK ON THE LIFT TONIGHT AND REALIZED I HAVE THE WRONG TRANNY, SO NOW ALL THE LEGAL STUFF BEGINS... 4 Times i have taken my car to a shop in the year i have owned the car, and four lawsuits have been filed after each one... NO LUCK AT ALL.. but thanks for all your input..

...better start working on your car yourself! People on this forum will know more about what to do than those generic mechanics. Those mechanics say they work on all Japanese cars but what they really mean is, if the car is only 15 years old or less.

I do its just scince I lowered my car I hate to have to crawl under there, and I can rebuild and engine, and like install aclutch, but know nothing of rebuilding tranny's... And one of my lawsuits was from big O tires, they did not tighten my lugnuts when they put new tires on my car.... It fell off, can you say life endangerment??? the only thing I can say is it is a pain but these shops have paid off about 20 years on my house, so as long as I am not hurt when they mess up, its ALL GOOD. The only reasons I take my car to the shop are things I can't do {align, change tire,etc..} or things I do not feel like doing{anuthing that involves crawling directly under the car} but I guess the things I do not like doing mechanics do not like doing.

I know this is kinda off topic but I was just wondering. What kind of s/c are you using and how did you set it up? I've heard people talk about s/c L28s but never from someone who actually did it. Thanks a lot.

Unfortunetly my screen name my goal right now...engine is done with a 7.5:1 comp.. But I am working with Jim Cook racing on a multiport injection setup with there blower, If that does not work out its all about the same model procharger they made for the 350z. Sorry but I will post pics once charger is on.. Hope fully done by the time the annual Z meeting rolls around.. BUT IT WILL HAPPEN.

The drive shaft prob. is solved and I now have three output shaft seals in the tranny, and she's not spillin a drop... There was a dime sized wieght on the driveshaft but the heat shield was in the way so I did not see it before..
