I have an 82 zx soon to be s/c'd and am having severe tranny probs. When I accelerate between 2200 & 3300 rpms my car shakes and rumbles from where the clutch is. Had it in gear, running, on a lift and diff. shakes real bad to.. This all happened after I got the output shaft seal replaced.. Any suggestions???

Maybe you got the wrong drive shaft. Early ones are shorter. Put it back up on the rack and check for play at both ends. Look for signs that the weights might have been knocked off. Put in neutral with engine off and rotate the rear wheels and check for concentricity of all the shafts.

ACTUALLY IT IS ALL BEING TAKEN CARE OF TOMORROW... LONG STORY SHORT.... I HAVE HAD MY TRANNY REBUILT 4 TIMES BY THE SAME PLACE, AFTER THE THIRD I DECIDED TO CUT MY LOSSES AND HAVE THEM PUT ORIG. TRANNY BACK IN... PUT IT BACK ON THE LIFT TONIGHT AND REALIZED I HAVE THE WRONG TRANNY, SO NOW ALL THE LEGAL STUFF BEGINS... 4 Times i have taken my car to a shop in the year i have owned the car, and four lawsuits have been filed after each one... NO LUCK AT ALL.. but thanks for all your input..

...better start working on your car yourself! People on this forum will know more about what to do than those generic mechanics. Those mechanics say they work on all Japanese cars but what they really mean is, if the car is only 15 years old or less.

I know this is kinda off topic but I was just wondering. What kind of s/c are you using and how did you set it up? I've heard people talk about s/c L28s but never from someone who actually did it. Thanks a lot.
