I have a 1983 280zx with automatic transmission non-turbo engine and it has no computer in it
Does anyone know the part number of the ECU and where i could get one and the cheapest solution

i got an 82 non turbo ECU that worked perfect when in the car (was stripped for parts) it was a manual though but theres no TCM on these cars so there really is no difference there the only thing i dont know about is if the 82 and 83 ECU's are interchangeable i want to say the are but cant re-assure myself of that answer

 

I don't think the two are the same i looked up the part number for the computers and the one on 1983 is different from the rest and i believe they control the transmission

 

Check wiring diagrams between 280zx years since they came with 1, 2, and 3 fuel pump relays depending on the year.

 

Ebay is a cheap place to find ECUs for the Z. Had to replace mine and picked it up for about $50
