#2... Round ports

#3... The other what?

#4... Have you bought a Haynes manual yet?

#3 the second plug in the wiring harness. one goes to the thermostat housing, the other plug is not hooked to anything.
#4 yes. that is the first place i look for answers to my questions. it doesn't go into detail about the wiring.

Haynes page 172 for differential info. Page 103 points out the two thermostat housing sensors (thermotime & coolant temp).

Which sensor are you talking about? Is it a single wire plug? Two wire plug? What color is / are the wires?

Pics help.

it's dark now and my digital camera doesn't make good low light pics.
i can't tell if it's the thermotime switch or the water temp sensor.it's a 2 wire plug.the one below the thermostat is hooked up the other is dangling.
i checked page 103, just can't tell the exact location of the 2 sensors.
i will check the color of the wires in the daylight.
on page 172 it doesn't list the 83. also i don't know if it's GL or a Deluxe model.
will my vin # tell me which model i have?

All 82 & 83 n/a's are the same: GL

And it sounds like it's the thermotime switch. Does your temp gauge still work?

yes the temp gauge works.the one that is hooked up(below the rad. hose, on the thermostat housing) wire color is one green and one white.the plug that is dangling wires are blue with a white stripe and blue with a yellow stripe.???
