Leaking inside
Leaking inside
Drove my 81 and my brother was in the passenger side an all Of a sudden he feels something hot and the dash got kinda smokey.. Found out it pours out water right under the glove box... Need help on finding out the problem please help thanks for ur time
Water or COOLANT?
I assume you mean coolant unless you just washed your car with hot water...
It's probably the water valve / **** that controls the coolant flow to the heater core (common problem... you can search and find lots of info).

and if i remove the a/c heater would this go away??
There are hoses behind the dash, possibly they're cracking, or loose?
I'm sure over 90% of the population here would be able to tell you what's wrong, if we were there.
So by asking if you take something off will it fix the problem, it might, but only if that is what the problem is with.
Get down and dirty with your Z! She's 30+ years old now, she'll start to leak a little, especially with 30 year old parts

my 81 is over heating so i thought it would b the themostat but thermostat housing (cap) has a big chip on it .. the thing that you connect the hose to.. i was wondering if this will cause the overheating.. and the gasket was melted..
the themostat looks find...
one more thing.. my passenger side is leaking.. but ppl on here is saying its the water crock but i dont want to go to the turbo of taking off my dash..
so is there an other away to stop this problem
plus the guy that sold me my zx told my the heater was bypassed .. how do i know he wasnt lieing..
and if it was bypass wouldnt this stop any leakage in the cab??

Are you sure they didn't use some sort of liquid gasket. I doubt it melted.
If you want a mickey mouse car then mickey mouse the fix. If you want it done properly then take the time to fix it properly. It's very very easy. All you are doing is unscrewing screws to get this stuff out. Follow the procedure in the FSM - 99% of the population can do this. It's going to take some time especially the first time you do it. The more you do this kind of stuff the easier it is to do something similar.
The heater core obviously wasn't bypassed since it was leaking all over the floor...

the thing was that i didnt want to loose anything when working on the car and idk why it feels like i would mess up the car for some reason, cause i never worked on a car before, but i really want to learn things . so i think im just gonna go for it..

I've already typed it a few times. I don't need to type it up again.
