is your motor upgraded quite a bit?? if it isnt, then it wont do anything for you. as for the ignition, a blaster 2 coil, or any perfomance coil will greaty help. you can also run a msd box to, you can use any company there as well. you will need to wire in the tach adapter module with any companies box as well. if your motor is modded lots (cam, big bore ported polished, etc) then injectors should be installed to the turbo ones, otherwise the motor cant deal with all the extra fuel.

if your planning for some NA power you might want to consider being a guinea pig for the NA z31 MAF swap.

i wonder if the z31 turbo injectors would work with the NA ECU. then you could do a small shot of nitrous with it.

from your local machine shop and from your imagination...

if your serious about some NA power do a search of 3 liter stroker, but your best bet would be to put a vg30e/t if you want serious power, durability and reliability.

all that trouble when u can just megasquirt. as far as 240sx tb you should bore out your intake otherwise its kinda a waste of money. but again one little mod dont look for a jump in hp. its the little things that add up. if u want n/a get a hc motor, healthy cam, header,ms,msd etc etc.

screw the $700 MS setup you can get a good reliable z31 setup for less then $200. and have more tuning options as there are a few different versions of tuning software for the ECU.

that 240sx TB won't do anything on an otherwise stock motor. waste of time and $$.

well it is not really a wast of money because i have it here. But would it be a wast of time? If it is not gonna help my performance with other upgrades im not gonna waste the TB by putting it on. Im haveing some probs the motor now so i dont know what im gonna do right now.

My Z31 ecu swap is almost complete! I got all the stuff to do it for about 400 total. I bought a rebuilt distributor, new oil pump driveshaft, used harness, ECU, MAF, all the sensors and tidbits off the VG motor, and 300zx FSM. Will do writeup when its done and I can evaluate how it runs compared to stock. I am setting mine up with all the emissions hardware intact, to see if it will pass CA smog. It's gonna have to go to the BAR Ref. station, cuz it wont pass a visual inspection with the wrong dizzy and MAF.

in the end when your all said and done, if you have everything to correctly tune your car using MS it ends up around $700 to do it properly where as with a z31 setup you can buy all the hardware for $100, buy nistune for $350 then buy the wideband for another $250, that and its easier to find help with the nistune setup then with MS.

everyone has their thing...but alot of people run ms and have a bunch of forums to specially tune setups, so i think finding help is not a problem. just think some people are scared to try different things. but if you look at it you are pretty much spending the same on the setups. so i guess it comes down to what you are most comfortable with.

i have done a couple MS installs and the first time i did it, there was alot of gray area for the install and the initial loading the software onto the lappy, but once i got it all sorted out its alright.

That may be... but not around here. It's quite obvious that people AREN'T scared to try new / different things as we have several members trying to put together a Z31 to 280zx n/a ecu setup. A lot of us don't like to follow the MSnS group... we want our own setup.
