OK Folx, heres one for ya.
After pressure washing my engine yesterday, I pulled out onto the road and everything was fine, but I started smelling something burning. At first I thought it was just excess engine cleaner burning off. Then all of a sudden, from the drivers side hood vent (remember, 82ZXT) BILLOWING WHITE SMOKE??? HOLY CRAP!!! What could it be? I pulled into the nearest driveway (right next door to a Police/Fire Superstation), turn off the ignition and raise the hood. Much to my amazement, it was the Bosch connector on the Air Control Valve. Evidently it got water in it, shorted out and started melting.
Here's where the question come in. There is a green wire and a black wire attached to the connector. My question is (since mine was burned beyond recognition), since this connector is mounted horizontally, which wire goes to the drivers side and which in on the passenger side? I have a new connector and would like to hook it back up, but need to know the wire color orientation. Would someome please lift their hood and look at the connector nearest the throttle linkage and let me know? I don't know that it matters which color goes where, but I'd rather be sure.
I did however learn one lesson from driving the car for the first time yesterday...wear a ball cap or cut your hair really short if you're gonna take the T-Tops off. I looked like Einstein after only 3 blocks.
82 XZ Turbo...what a rush. I'd forgotten how fun these cars are to drive.
Thanks,
Warren

I feel you guys with the T-tops thing...I have short hair but have bangs that go all the way to the back of my head. If I don't wear a hat, it feels like I have tentacles all up on my face lol...so yes, a hat is necessary.
PS. did you post this on zcar.com? just incase no one knows the answer to your technical question here.
