ok, your idle should be at 700-800 when in gear, soooooo........at the intake where the throttle body is...(this is kind of a pain cuz the screw is upside down...) look where the metal deal sets on the intake where the throttle connection is and take a screwdriver and turn it a little bit at a time... the idle should be about 1100/1200 in neutral or park. now i had a problem of my screw continuesly unscrewing due to engine vibration so if you have a lil high temp sealant, put it on the screw and rescrew it in so it will not unscrew and your problem should be solved...let me know if all doesnt go well

1. He's got a 5-speed so the Park/Drive selection is not relevant to his setup. But for an auto you are correct.

2. 1982-83 have a slightly different setup than earlier throttle bodies. I can't find a good picture of the 82-83 type. The verticle cylinder molded into the intake manifold has a slot head bolt down inside. Unscrew that bolt a little while the engine is idleing. (warmed up already) That should do it.

it was a 50/50 guess.. mine is auto, but i havent seen how the standard models go about it, wild shot in the dark i guess

Ya, that's fine. It is the same throttle body for the auto and manual. But on a manual you're just adjusting the idle while the shifter in in neutral.

The main difference is the 1979-81 throttle body and 1982-83 throttle body.

Ok, I found an old pic of my engine.

I'm sure you get asked this all the time, but where did you get your 3-point strut bar? Assuming it was custom made, how did you go about making it (ie the mounting rings)?
