Help with brake booster
I have decided I do not want brakes anymore so I need to get rid of the booster :D Cant figure out how the hell it is mounted on, and the book doesnt help much eather... Please help me.. Thanks in advance..

Remove the master cylinder from the booster if you want. You don't really need to but I do for clearance. If you're engine isn't in the car then don't sweat it. But anyways, you should be able to locate the two nuts securin the brake master cylinder under the dash near where the top of the brake pedal is. You'll also need to disconnect the brake pedal from the booster as well. Thats it.

I meant the two nuts securing the booster under the dash.
I accidentally put brake master cylinder on the underdash part. |

Use the car in front of you to slow down... it's amazing how much longer your pads will last. It's a little hard on the front bumper, so you may want to install one of those patrol car type ramming gates on the front.;)

Rod. Sometimes when I'm on the freeway, I get the urge to just crank the steering wheel and see what happens... Is that wierd? |
haha, this thread is cracking me up.

I mean that would be friggin' crazy to be going at a high speed, and suddenly get the urge to crank the wheel. I would say I'd be in for a world of hurt! ;) I thought I was one of the few that has thought that way!

NO I really don't want to try to imagine! ;) And yes here would come the pain, and if you survived, can we say $ signs up to yin yang! And as long as you don't have a 350z. It's cool with me, sorry if I offended any new 350z owners. ;) Just stating my opinion. :D

Where I dont see nothin??? :p

I had a psycho girlfriend once reach over and grab the steering wheel and yank it while going down the freeway at about 75... "just to see what would happen". It wasn't pretty, but my old BMW 635 CSI hung pretty tough... after a couple ugly 360's I got it pointed the right direction again without hitting anything. Got the attention of the other drivers on the road though. Scared the crap outta me. We broke up shortly after that... go figure.

Actually, the final straw came a few weeks later, when she wrapped that beautiful/fast/sexy 635 around an oak tree. I owned that car for a total of two months. As soon as I found out she was OK, I got rid of her:p . Picture 1= The car she killed, Picture 2= It's replacement:) .

Funny thing about Porsche's... Lot's of people can afford to buy one, Very few can afford to own one.;)

I just wanna put a donut on someone, once i put my 16x7s on I should be able to do it without crunching the fenders I have put so much work into.

Oh come on. You mean to tell me none of you have ever just jerked the wheel and ripped the ebrake while flying down an empty freeway? I mean I'm sure not all of you have freeways as wide as the I15 can get but come on. We're talking good fun and a carton of ciggarettes once you're done screaming :D But the look on you best friends face during the whole ideal as he grabs onto anything he can from the passenger seat because you decide to act on a whim and get the car spinning at 80mph without saying a word...Priceless :D .
That was in my ZX2 though. I'd never do something like that anymore, especially in my Z. Had to put the spare on as one of the tires seperated from the rim and started shooting sparks. I'm sure it looked really pretty from a distance. Counter steering at that point is pretty pointless so I just let it go til it got down to a managable speed. For the next couple years til I left Cali he never would get back in a car with me if I was driving. Said he just couldn't trust me anymore. Disclaimer: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME OR ON YOUR LOCAL INTERSTATE. The results can be disasterous. I consider my self lucky especially considering I lost a tire during the whole ordeal. What was I thinking? I wasn't. Just another stupid kid who just had to get it out of my system. Adrenaline can be an addicting thing :D |
