Fuel Pump

On my 83 280xz non-turbo, my fuel pump seems to be getting louder and louder. Is this thing getting ready to die ?? I don't want to be left on the the road somewhere........

On another subject....I installed a new cd player this weekend. I have been gradually putting the wires back together under the dash, and when I connect one that was unplugged from it's mate, I now have the SENSOR light lite up on the digital dash. what is this >> the O2 sensor ??? Do I need to be concerned about this, or just unplug it ........

Thanks Nizmo.......The padding is gone in the spare tire well.....for that matter, so is the spare tire. Filling that space should cut down on the noise...Thanks, Charlie....Any idea on the sensor light ???

That light comes on @ about 30,000 miles & stays on till you unplug the wire. It's to notify you to change the O2 sensor for the first time... if it came back on, you plugged that wire back in. It's a wire down by the main wiring harness block under the dash @ the passenger door. I don't remember the color, but it should say in the Haynes manual.
