Finished my exhaust - take a listen
Hey guys, I finally finished my exhaust today, and was psyched enough to haul my computer into the driveway to record some samples. Sorry about the poor quality, if you want the most realistic-sounding clip, I've got a WAV file I can email out.
As of now, this exhaust is just to keep my car legal. It's nothing fancy, just the stock manifold and cat, with a 2" glass pack muffler [yes, I know ... kill me now], and 2.5" tail section. I routed it under the differential and suspension, then out the drivers side [as opposed to the passenger side that originally came with the car]. Pics soon to come. I think it sounds great. Tell me what you think. Please save them and listen, to save my bandwidth. Enjoy. http://doriftomotorsports.250free.com/startup.mp3 http://doriftomotorsports.250free.com/rev_to_4000.mp3 http://doriftomotorsports.250free.co...e_piss_out.mp3 |
Sounds nice man... I had people starin at me in the barber shop because I'm on my PDA phone.. it was loud... I noticed some popping. but it may have been my speaker cause it was loud.. :D

Haha - nope, you heard correct, there's some popping in there. Part of it is a small exhaust leak around the catalytic converter gaskets, the other is the increase in size over stock. It goes from the stock 1-7/8" or whatever it is off the cat, and to 2.5". I like it though ... gives that rally car sound to it, which I love.
In person, it's really not that loud, it's got a more baratone sound to it - real bass-ish touch to it. My microphone sucks, and so does the recording software I used. I scared this kid with a Civic down my street this afternoon as well :D . Is it just me, or does it kind of sound like a Subaru? Do all L28s do this? All the ones I've heard have, anyway. |
Hey man it sounds pretty nice! And no I don't think it sounds like a Subaru. None I have heard anyway.
