Does this look right? "Gasket"
I just picked up a gasket from Napa and they assured me it is for my car (1982 280zx coupe non turbo with automatic tranny) They also said it will fit the turbo model also and get this...will fit a 1980 also...isn't that an N47 head where as mine is a P79??? Either way this is all they offer. Anyway here is the pic of the gasket, I am sure you all know far more than they do when it comes to the gasket, thanks guys.

Yeah the gasket looks right. But if it is a regular gasket for the factory exhaust manifold. I will tell you right now from experience. It will not work on a header. In a short time, it will leak, and then you will be sucking air through the intake. If you want a great header gasket, like I said before. Motorsport Auto www.zcarparts.com, has a header gasket for $12 or $13. Well worth it, and that is what I am using on my '81 motor in my '82. With my headers, and no leaks whatsoever.
Man you guys really dont like these gaskets...Actually the mechanic guy I know instructed me to get it, he makes molds and dyes for making car parts and told me to get this as a template. He says he can make me a gasket that will last as long as I own the car and that it will be re-usable, he just needs some time to make the dye. He made some for his ford 302 in his 1969 Mustang and they look real nice and other than some minor discoloration they look new. He told me he made the gaskets like 7 or 8 years ago and they have been on three different engines with absolutly no leaks or problems. He uses headers on all his engines also. I am very excited about the gasket, I just hate waiting on stuff but I think it will be worth it.
