Does anyone know where this vacuum line goes to?
 

Hi Everyone!

Does anyone know where this vacuum line go? It's the only one that is disconnected and I have replace all the other vacuum lines, but this one I can't fine where it goes to. Any pictures would help.

The vacuum line going to the black vacuum switch (with the blue wire), goes to the vent selector switch inside the car. The vacuum line going to the yellow vacuum switch (with the yellow wire), goes to a little giaphragm on the 'idle bypass' plumbing. The vacuum line without a vacuum switch goes to a nipple on the manifold, between the 'idle bypass' plumbing and the nipple where the servo draws it vacuum from. Without these lines connected, the vent selector cannot be working, and the motors rpm will not increase when the A/C is switched on. Hope this helps.

I have all the vacuum lines hooked up except the one with the blue wire on the side. That one goes to vent selector switch inside the car? Where inside the car does this go... and it there a goes that goes to the firewall that leads to this vacuume line? I don't use my AC because it need to be recharged and i'm not sure about the compressor.

What I meant to say is... is that a place that it attaches on the fire wall?

My car is a right hand drive, I'm therefor not sure where this line goes through the firewall on the LHD models. On my car, there is a grommet in the firewall on the left hand side (between the A/C plumbing and the battery - battery is on the left on the RHD cars). Fom the pictures I've seen of LHD cars, I suspect the line enters the firewall on the right hand side, between the battery and the motor. The line goes to a selector switch that is activated by the vent selector lever (above the heat control lever). This switch has this "supply" line entering it and about 5 or 6 lines exiting to the diaphragms of the different vents. To get to this selector is a bitch and you have to remove the lower section of the dash that houses the radio.

I'm gonna check it out when I get home. And see if I see it.

Thanks...I found the other end of that vacuum line. I found it right on the firewall next the break-lines by the AC lines on the firewall same side as the battery. I joined them with the hard plastic sleeve. I then turned on the AC and I could feel the Ice Cold Air and I could heard the air compressor working. :D :) That was the last of the vacuum hoses that needed to be changed. I'll get around to changing the vacuum line that runs inside the firewall.

Good job man, glad it worked out for you! :) I was sitting here scratching my head, thinking, I know I have seen that part before under my hood! LOL :p Anyway, when I get my Z back onto the road, he will have ice cold a/c also! I live in the Arizona desert, and it is a must have! :D

It would be nice if my digital clock was working.

Mine works, and it is with a blue display! :D

Is it original or aftermarket. I've had 3 Z's and none of the clocks worked.

My factory amber digital clock works on both my 82 Z's.

Hey it is the original clock, that I changed the display to blue. I also changed my gauge lightings to blue. Totally custom. :D

Just got my clock working last night. I'm stoked...both the AC and the clock fixed in the same week! Cool!!

Haha - awesome. I've found that the digital clock is the most accurate gauge in my car. It keeps better time than my Fossil wristwatch. :D

Next on my to do list is the windshield washer tubes. I hear the motor working but no fluid. The tubes are clear and from what I see there hasn't been any fluid flowing for years. I suspect one of the tubes is clogged and so I'm gonna replace the clear tubes first.
