Clutch problems need help ASAP!!!!
Ok....The clutch pedal has been acting a little wierd lately, but I thought it's been due to the cooler weather we've been having here in Dallas lately. The pedal won't go all the way up when I let my foot off. I have had to stick my toe under the pedal to raise it all the way. On the way home from work, it just stopped working all together and I had to drive it like a semi truck. Thankfully, I didn't have to come to a complete stop. I did check the fluid in the resovoir, it's full, but looks like black mud...not nice and clear.
I'm going out to see what I can do, but I'll have my wife looking in to see if anyone has posted. This is my daily driver, so I need this to work tonight...hopefully. Thanks in advance!!! |
try bleeding your clutch slave cylinder first.. and if that doesnt work relace both clutch master and slave cylinder....
|
Well, I bled it out, filled it with nice new fluid, and it works like new. I was sweating there for a minute, 'cause the last clutch I worked on was back in like '84 on a '78 Jeep. No hydraulic assist on that one!
Thanks for bailing me out again!!! Next time I'm in your neck of the woods, the beers are on me! |
Hey ice, just curious. What would make the clutch fluid turn all black and mucky? Am I burning up something, or could it be that it's just old fluid and needs replaced.....like I did last night?
|
yes dirty used up fluid...also rotten lines will make it graylike
|
Ok....old fluid, I get. But, where in the hell are the rubber lines??? All I see is either copper or aluminium.
|
dont have rubber line on slave cylinder???
also i meant more to say RUSTED lines... |
