Can you see anything wrong here?? {pics}

Does anything look wrong to any body. I got this engine too cheap for it to be mechanically soun its going to the machine shop soon but I was wondering...I dont like the fact that it looks kinda burnt..

Looks good. The polished lobes have been setting a while and have some very slight surface rust coming through and the oil is very old.

So it is surface rust?? Thank god I thought that was a RED hot spot on the cam..So relieved..

I've never heard of red hot spots. maybe someone else knows? I've used a cam before that looks like that. As long as its smooth I would think its good. When it has scratches or pitting then I throw it out.

Give it a blast of WD40 and rub it with your fingers. Then just use some motor oil to lubricate it. Thats all it really needs.

Any advice on a turbo cam?? And where can I get better valve springs at?? Als is there a big advantage to goin with a Cam sprocket?? {adjustable} thx in advance.

Don't bother with a turbo cam. Your hp goals do not require one. You can even use the stock NA cam with a turbo. Please do not waste your money on a 'turbo' performance cam.

okay I will do so..I was actually looking earlier at cams for turbo engines and realized for half the money I can upgrade to a ball bearing turbo..

im on my third z my 80 went 300,000 yes major work was done inbetween but my point being ive seen them worse. lost her to a rust cancer.
