brake warning light stuck

Our '80 280ZX mostly sits, we have two modern daily driver's and I just got my vw running again..

I last drove the Z probably 3 weeks ago, and today I wanted to shift things around on the driveway so I drove it around the block..

The little light on the dash won't go out. I know my bug had it's brakes stick after it sat for a couple of months, it wasn't running and it took some effort to break them free so I could push it.. but the Z didn't feel like it was dragging. at idle i can let off the brake and it moves with no scraping sounds or "feel" of drag and after going around the block none of the wheels felt warmer than the other..

Anyone else run into this or should I begin chasing down wires for a potentially bad sensor? kid takes her permit test for the second time this weekend.. if she gets it, we want her to learn how to drive the car she's going to be driving..

check the fluid reservoir for correct level first. if full could have a bad float switch.,
After that you got a bad switch which is operated by the hand brake lever. only two things make that light go on.
