This weekend I was doing some rutine check on the engine of my 280zx, when I saw something that I never realized that was there. It's on the left side of the engine, over the valve cover, it was some kind of intake for air, and end in some kind of blower. My car is a N/A, what is tha t thing, it is useless, or it do something important?

 

When you say left side do you mean drivers-side or passenger side? If it comes over the valve cover and goes down the passenger-side to almost the bottom of the motor where a little blower is, it is the injector cooler. some people asked me why I had an electric turbo on my car, I tell them its a nitrous injection cooler
