280zx stalling
Hey everyone I am new here. I just bought my 81 280zx Turbo from a friend. The car was running and driving great when I got it, but the heater just blew on my feet and wouldn't adjust. After researching the topic I found that the vacuum line from the engine bay into the cabin was cracked and broken. I fixed the line and the heater problem was fixed. I got in the car to go to work and when I came to a stop sign the car died, it did it twice on my drive to work. But was fine on my way home. Now it will drive fine some times and intermittently will stall as I come to a stop. I disconnect the vacuum line that I fixed and the problem goes away. I have researched a bunch but haven't found anything that is similar to this that has been happening to anyone. Help please, I want to be able to drive my car without it dying and have heat.
And also when the vacuum line is connected the car with sputter and cut out at higher RPM. Thanks -Nate |
Hello
Can you take some photos of your engine and the Vac lines. Hard to tell what you have going were. There is a download in your private message box of Shop Manuals. Look in there and find the lay out of the vac Diagram and follow them to see if they are in the right places. Check your PCV vavle too.

Yeah I have a shop manual downloaded already. I have checked all the lines and have been screwing around with the vacuum lines and it seems to just get worse if I do anything else. Where is the PCV valve located on the l28et? and also some was telling me about a vacuum actuated fpr? is this true? thanks
