280zx - need help removing oil pan

Hopefully someone can help.. I need to remove the oil pan on my 280zx to repair a dent. The pan is loose, bolts removed. I've tried hoisting the engine and also jacking up the tranny but can't seem to find the sweet spot that will allow me to remove the pan. Any suggestions? beginning to lose patience so I appreciate the help!

Your going to need to slip in a wrench in the gap between the block and the pan and undo the pickup tube. That or hold the engine up somehow and drop the front crossmember. Thats it really...

Also...

You should also arrange the crank so that the lobes and rod ends are most 'up' — away from the bottom of the pan. I know it's possible to drop a pan on a 280Z with the engine in the car (and without jacking it up), but never tried it on a ZX. Good luck!
