Hey Guys
Picked up my 1st Turbo car after owning 5 79-83 N/T cars.. The car idles well but when I rev the engine I hear the turbo start up but then it just bogs and backfires..I know there could be several isssues that could cause such but what are a couple of the 1st demons you would try and kill to determine this issue..

Start with the AFM....

 

I should have known that from my 5 NT cars I have had..will get a known good Turbo MAF and swap it and strat there..

Actually start with the connections first. You can test the AFM at the ECU connector as well.
