1980 280zx hot lash adjusment
 
ok so one of my lifters is knocking and need to know how hard is it to do the adjusment. ok hopefully its as simple as i think so first off all i have to do is just adjust the one that is knocking rite? or is there more to it if so can i please maybe have a walkthrough on it if so that would be great

yea i saw that but it just tells me how to put the tool on there and thats for cold lash i need the hot lash and is there away to stop the oil from going all over the place so it wont smoke

Cold adjustment is more accurate, plus you don't have to worry about hot oil and parts.

Hot procedure is the same as cold... just diff specs. Rags prevent oil from going all over, but there will still be a mess... what were you expecting?

We've discussed how to adjust the valve lash many times... so feel free to search.
