Im curious will wheels off of a early 80's mustang fit the 79 zx?

Yes those 4-lug Mustang wheels do work. I don't know all the wheel styles they have, but I've used one type of wheel from a Mustang.

ive tried to bolt up mustg wheels on my car befire and they were the wrong bolt pattern.. the lugs didnt line up.. i got the rims from a 85 mustag GT t bolt patterns were diffrent

I know the mid 80's Ford Thunderbird has 4x100 so they won't work.
I guess you'll have to measure the lug centers diagnaly. The Z is 4.5 inches

Supposivly these wheels were from an 81 Mustang.

Wheels from a Fox bodied Mustang will not fit. The Mustang wheels that are the same bolt pattern are from sixties/early seventies, six cylinder cars. Therefore, very limited selection there, as well.

aaah... maybe the guy told me '81 and really it was '71. ;D
