Strange Leak

found a "oil" spot under the right rear wheel area the other day. it seemed to be in line with the brake caliper, but I could find no sign of a leak on the hardware, or the brake line.

When I checked the level in the brake master cylinder, it was fine.

At this point I have no idea where else to look. What else could be leaking in that area of the car?

have the wife unit or buddy stand on the brake pedal while you dive under with a flashlight. or could just be random. did you feel it smell it? other possible but unlikely bearing grease or tranny fluid

Maybe the oil spot not from your Car?!There is nothing there to leak oil from!Or maybe you parked backwards!
See who was parked in your parking spot before you park your car...

Suggestion: See if you can make it leak again. Next time you pull in to your spot, find a clean space for that wheel area, sit in neutral and pump the brakes a buncha times hard, then stand on the pedal a minute, yank up the parking brake, turn the car off and go to bed.

Next morning, there's your spot exactly under where it's leaking - or there's no spot at all. :unibrow:

The random seem more likely, but does not make me feel better.
The concrete is unfinished, so the spot had been absorbed by the concrete, just was a large black stain that was not there before.

The spot is for my car only, and the car had been setting over a month. The fact that there is nothing else back there is what has been so puzzled.

Sort of a older post, but, on that oil stain on your driveway, wet the drive down. Then use some powdered laundry soap..Tide, or what ever you like. Sprinkle the soap powder all over the stain. Walk away....Come back in a couple of hours and hose off your drive. The laundry soap will soak up the stain.
