Panasport Wheels

http://www.panasport.com/fs16.html

These are the Panasport wheels, and I want them very badly. They are obviously sexy as well as very light. If all goes through, I will be buying them this summer.

However, I have heard that they are very easy to bend and/or screw up. I am most definitely not going to be running low profile tires or anything of the sort, but I am more than slightly concerned.

Does anyone hear run these wheels? Have you had any problems with them getting screwed up? Also, if something does accidentally happen, what kind of cost is normally associated with fixing them?

The odds of you bending those wheels are pretty slim. They are quality wheels. If you were paying $500 for a set of wheels with tires, then I'd be concerned. Anything is possible though, and if you abuse them, you can definitely damage them. If they really had a reputation for bending easily, would they still be around? And for the price they're asking?

True, any wheel that you abuse will screw up, I completely understand that. That reputation idea is a good point, especially considering how much word-of-mouth sells in the aftermarket automotive industry.

If you like em, and you're not willing to do the 5-lug thing, then those are the wheels I would recommend. I'm gonna do a 5-lug conversion. Not the adapter, but actual 5-lug hubs, and then I'm leaning toward Volk for wheels. If you bend one of those, you must've driven off a cliff, and they weigh approximately jack crap.

People race with those wheels. I would guess that they are one of the strongest wheels around. I have never heard of any bad reputation for Panasports. Maybe some cheap Pana look-alike wheel got bent by someone who ran into a curb...

Ok, thats what I figured. They are a good wheel with a great racing heritage, so they should be strong and reliable as they come. Sounds like a done deal to me.
