Good call Ice!

Good call on those Tokico suspension parts IcIce. They claimed only 1" drop, but they are much lower, hehe. I just got them installed yesterday, and I'm definatly sitting lower than before, even with worn original suspension. I actually bottomed out on a speed bump today, haha! Anyhow, I'm really pleased with them, and at $400 for struts and springs at all 4 corners, it was quite a steal!

rite on man.. glad to hear your enjoying them... man ive had mine for quite a while now and im still getting a lot out of them... i guess once my truts wear out ill upgrade to the illuminas

I'm thinking about the Tokikos, but I don't want to be bottoming out. I heard if I don't use their springs, I won't drop as much. Do you have a picture of how your ZX turned out? I'd like to see how low it is.

Ice, nice car. But your larger wheels throw me, I'm sticking with the stock 14" wheels and am curious to see how mine would look with Tokiko struts.

heres how it looked with my stock 14" rims

Is that with both Tokiko struts and springs? That is pretty low, I'll have to think about it. Though maybe your ground-affects package is throwing me off.

Here's my ZX from about 5-years ago.

yeah thats with the tokico lowering sprigs and struts.. if you dont wantyour car to drop a lil more then an inch then just go with the struts... it will stiffen your ride but wont lower your car...

I've also been told recently to stay away from the Eibach springs.

SuspensionTechiques or Tokico are the two that this guy recommended. I'm considering either... I've already got Tokico struts for the front, nothing for the rear yet. When I get all four plus springs then I'll do the install.

eibach

hey whats wrong with the eibachs? I was considering getting some of them??

icice9 07-08-2003 09:56 AM

my cousin went with the Eibach springs on his Z and its a lot softer then the tokicos... his car has a tendancy to bottom out putting a lot more stress on the struts and also reducing the lifespan of his struts.. if you go with the tokico springs and strut package your assured to have the right combination.. the springs would be designed for the struts and vice versa...

I have also heard that the rear end will sit lower than the front when using the Eibachs, whereas mine sits nice and level with the Tokicos.
