front end bushings

If you read my post on brakes you'll know why I posted this as well.

I don't have bushings anymore...I have dirt. Yes, ladies and gents, it seems entirely possible for compacted dirt to take the place of your bushings when you're not looking!

SO...An enitre (struts, springs, bushings, boots, etc...)replacement is the order of the day. I'm wanting to get the best bang for the buck. This is my daily driver and I love a good stiff ride. I also realize that to do this will cost me at least $1,000. Who's done what? How much? and...do you like?

Shocks, springs, and struts I went with Tokiko blues. They have a stiff, sporty ride and lower the car to a perfect ride height. I found mine on E-bay, I can't seem to find the same ones on there now. I plan on buying urethane bushings from MSA.

As far as boots, etc. either MSA, www.victoriabritish.com, or E-bay.

Do a searech for performance suspension technoligy (PST). Thay offer a full line of polygraphite bushings that offer the race feel of polyurethane with the comfort of rubber bushings. Not sure f they have springs for the Z too. Check em out

Ok...now the question you've all been waiting for...

I know there is a bushing in the swing arm (terminology?) that needs to be pressed out. I don't have a press and I want to do the work myself. Is there an easy way to do this without a press, or do I need to get out the hacksaw?

icice9 03-25-2004 07:02 AM

i used a hacksaw, hammer and old big beat up screw driver to take out the sleeve from the lower control arm.. after that assembly was easy

you can use a torch and burn them out also. thats what i did.
