Thoughts on my paint?
 

I got a bit bored tonight so I decided to paint my car.....in PhotoShop. I added a tuner muffler to it also and some tint. The silver/grey is the color I was thinking of painting it, what do you all think?

Hmmm, see now you have me thinkin. The grey is kinda dull isn't it? Even though I doubt there is another 280zx painted in 2002 Chrysler Inca Gold I some how feel it needs to be a different color, but everyone seems to like it. I admit I am not a big fan of the color but it is growing on me...but I am not sure I want it to. Oh well maybe I should tint the windows first and see if that contrast a little better with the paint. But I do like the look of the Tuner Muffler.

Can't say I'm a big fan of the current color. The car looks great, but that color doesn't really do it for me. But, the fact that its your car means that if I like it doesn't really matter. I think if that grey had a little more shine to it it would look better then the photoshop image. In the pic it almost looks like a really dark grey primer or a faded black primer. If it were glossy I think it would look a lot better. IMO ;)

Leave it like it is. No 'tuner' muffler. Keep it clean. Tint those windows though.

if i were to paint my car again id most likly go with the ford mineral grey metalic color.. its kind of a mix with a tan and grey color with metalic added.. the color would be like the 2 colors you have right now but put together..

I have to agree with the no on the tuner muffler and I agree it would look a lot better if the grey was glossy

yes! Like Rod's Rice muffler.
I like my flat grey stainless Flowmaster. Its flat and tucks up under the car. No flashy junk. I'll save the bling for my 19" chromiez! :047:

my set up is
header , no cat , strait to a canister muffler ...if i drop it down and there are people on the side walk .lolololololool..they jump it sounds like a gun going off ..hhahahaha so funnny.. dumping it down in town.. i have seen old people duck and cover ..hahhaha this one time i turned the corner and kick it down ...this kid on a bike was right there even with the window as she kicked down ...he jumped and almost fell off his bike so funny ....the only thing that sucks is these mufflers go out after time ..mine now isnt as loud as it was one i bought it :(

Sounds just like the reasons ricers put those loud ass mufflers on Honduhs.... they don't benefit the car's performance... just noise pollution.

try bright yellow on that photo thing, youll love that. these cars look good in yelllow

Ya, I drove your car. That sucker is loud! (too loud for my taste) My car has a nice deep mellow tone. Headers, cat, resonator, Flowmaster. 2.5" all the way out

I don't like the look maybe because it is so cliche on FWD wannabes. Maybe if not everyone had one, I'd think they're ok. But if you've got 2.5" in, then 2.5" out is all you need.

i've always been partial to a nice twin tip design. nothing huge, just simpe twin tip.

By no means do I want my car to sound like a "fart box" I do like a low deep rumble with no popping or backfiring out of the tip. I see no point in having a 2 1/2 inch pipe into a canister muffler if it has a 4 inch tip and only a 1 inch outlet...sounds like a 2 cycle dirt bike that way! I could see using a flowmaster if it was like the one on my 92 camaro, if it would tuck up out of site behind the gas tank with a single 2 1/2 inch inlet and dual 2 1/2 inch outlets. I think a tip on each side would look nice on this car but I would have to have a pre muffler to keep the popping to a minimum. But back to the color of the car, I added 3 more colors and tint to the original, looks alot better with dark tint with the gold.

This looks good to me also but I am not doing red.

I've always done a lot of commuting in my Z and I spent every minute after the first half hour or so of the drive because I went with a resonator tip instead of a muffler. It sounds really good, but it starts to get to you when it's all you ever hear. Couldn't even hear the stereo over it (when I had one). I'll have to side with Bleach on this one: I hate when the muffler sticks out like that. I like my muffler tucked up under the car so it cant be seen. Then have a nice tip coming out the rear. With the 280zx a dual tip goes really well with the exhaust cutout in the rear.

i like rods muffler on the 300zx my friend has a red 84 turbo pretty sick ...i will side with you j on the noise ..it gets old sometimes ...but i love the look ...i have a friend with a 1980 10th anny he got a bigger canister and put it father back then mine he all so has a cat ..it isnt ner as loud as my car ....i have been thinking about getting a bigger canister this next time...i dont know ..i would like a differnt sound its to loud some times ...like having a switch to cap it and uncap it would tight ....lolololol i realy like rods rims ...so sick..bigger break mod is needed for thoughs bad boys

i have the msa 2.5 kit with the turbo muffler, good low tone, yet loud enough to mean business. i like the yellow, thats my alternate color. my car is 2001 ford mustang silver i like it first.

I vote that colour! (I also liked that red but then again, I have a red Z so I'm kinda partial...) but man! that mineral gray is hot!
