Seats
Was it hard to do? Probably loads better now in the twisties too huh?
I remember in my zxt hanging on like crazy to the steering wheel thru a couple mountain passes because I was sliding around in my seat. I put in some old school GSR seats and they work great.

I had to make some 1 inch spacers to make up for the seat configuration. but besides that it was easy. It took about 15 minutes to mount both. The factory seatbelts work great for the extra suport. They also fit better then with the factory seats. And they hold so much better in a corner, almost to good, you dont move at all so you take corners faster then normal without realizing it. Also they are so much more comfortable to just drive in.
Hey Mike, you can rig the seat rails to work for the seat, it will be a tight squeeze to get them onto the eye bolts on the floor so having a friend or your bro to help will pretty much be a must. I just lined up the seats on the original rails and drilled holes. From there it took my bro and I some effort to get the seats to mount onto the eyebolts, I think I had to use a 1/4 inch spacer washer to get the seats up to a good eye level. Other than that, it's no biggie, especially since you've done an i/c install which I think is 10X's harder to do!
Still boosting 15 psi or is the new i/c giving you fuel cut at a lower boost setting? Just curious. Take it easy man.

Hey wassup mang...how's the turbo and the 510's doing
I did finish the IC install and I'm lovin it. I haven't really had the chance to test it to it's full capacity as I have not had the money to spend on higher octane gas
but soon I will know exactly how she acts. But I do have it set up to run 12psi for regular driving and I flip a switch to hit 15psi. It does ping a little at 15 but that's partly because of the gas and boost spike. Soo, when I first hit it, it would go up to 17psi then down to 15psi. It runs fast at these levels and once I can get some good gas I know I can get rid of what's left of the pinging. Next step is a RRFPR, SVO injectors and better fuel pump. I should be able to run at least 18psi on this turbo until I give in for a T3-T4....or even a T4 with dual stage Nitrous...yummy! BUT first things first, I want to get these CRX seats in. I did test fit the seats a few weeks ago and it does line up with the front holes. My problem is the back bolts as they are not level. Like you said, I will have to use some spacers to make them level. Then all I would have to do is drill holes for the back brackets right? How about the female end of the seat belt? I have to swap those out as well right? Thanks man for your help

Yup, all you have to do is drill holes in the bracket for the seat. The seat belt, I still have the stock one there, it didn't have to come out for me. So you're going to go T3/T4 or T4 with nitrous? Whoa your ZXT will definitely fly. I'm hoping to get everything of mine together this summer barring no more hit and runs from SUV's, the damage wasn't bad at all, just a few scratches and a dent in my hood, but nothing else. It musta been when the guy tried to pull out of the street and back into my car (we were parallel parked). I hope I have my car back in time for the Z car show even though I'm not showing it. Are you going? Let me know how the seat install goes.

Your talking about using the stock 280zx seat brackets and bolting that with the CRX seats right? I thought I could cheat and fit the CRX seats, rails and all. That's why I asked about the seat belts. I'll have to just put it in the car and see exactly what I have to do. As far as the turbo, more than like I will be staying with the stocker until the end of this year. Haven't decided on which turbo but yes if I do get a T4, I will definitly have nitrous to help with the lag issues.
I will try to make the Nationals...the car is ready for the show, just don't know if I could get a day off that weekend (deadlines) I haven't been to the Nationals so this will be my first if I make it. Each year I've been putting it off so I'll try to make this one.
Your Z got hit? man that sucks! I know how you feel about people who hit your car and run. I had a brand new Altima back in 99 and I didn't even have the car one month when I was greeted by a big *** dent on the back door....the mini dent puller they sell at Wally World will definitely not be able to fix it lol. Funny thing is the color that was rubbed onto to my paint matches the State trucks you see on the side of the freeways. If I saw him do that I would have kicked his ****
Well, I hope your Z didn't get too banged up...good thing you can get another hood for cheap at your local pick-n-pull. Good thing your shaved doors didn't get banged up either. Anyway, let me know if your going to Nationals so I can meet up with you if I end up going. Talk to ya later.

My neighbor accross the street did that exact same thing to my 280ZX! About a month after i got it painted, he backed his huge Dodge truck into my Z parked on the street. The edge of the chrome bumper got caught under the front fender well so he pulled forward to try to release it even though I told him to wait while I jack up the car a few inches.... tore the fender lip out
Oh well, his insurance paid for it, but I wasn't allowed to have a rental car because I didnt' have full coverage on my Z! (my full coverage would cover the rental while I drove it)
And I couldn't believe how well the shop color matched the fender! It was a custom purple color. Made from that 1994 Mustang color, magenta... but a little darker. More purple added.
