S 130 Air Dam, Bumper cover

Well this is about my approach to the weak chin of the S130 I own. Looking for months and evaluting the situation I found that all the commercial options wopuld still need to be worked to get rid of gaps. Quite a bit and I still was not sold on what I would have. One outstanding example of a builder is the red and white striped 280zx. I included it as "thought" for others as it was for me. The silver car show gaps in whats available and what it looks like if not fared in proper. So I took what I liked and left what I didn't and started to make what I wanted.

I removed the cover and steel reinforcement, planning to incorporate some sort of steel collision protection with new look. I used 1" building insulation and cut pieces using bumper reinforcement as template. I stacked enough to fill the area where old bumper fit. I moved this in from original position to what looked good to me. I glassed these and made a lower lip out of one thickness same foam, glassed both sides.
I supported these in place and started using can foam to fill in areas to be flush with front face of bumper. I used 2" thick foam blocks in center area and looked at different configurations to choose what I think looks and will work best for grill.

Progress being made. working vertical surfaces now then I need to cut horizontal lines. Happy so far. I am making a wood and glass center insert to replace hokey foam pieces grill area. Off for a month to Calif. I will be back.
