yeah idea in the head and actual work that it takes to do it is far apart...i ahve pictured so many hood modifications to do but it would be so complicated, look nice, but so difficult to make that i just dont bother...so i stuck with my scoop :-D

now..one thing you gotta look at...reason i didnt cut up the already existing bump is that there is a support under there to strenghten the hood...if you want scoop there..you will have to chew out the support...the hump would make for a very nice scoop tho, just cut a hole in it and make a mould insert so you have no sharp metal edges and it would be good

my existing hood is, simply put, f**ked! I inhereted the car from my mom, who parked it under a Chevy S10. After that accident, she sat out for 5 Illinios winters. lots of cancer, will take pics tomarrow. This hood design is for a friend of mine, as I stated above, but in the future I might have one made for me.

That is a nice find Skully, but... made for first gen. Z... non-functional scoop( if it is functional, it does not have a lot of thought put into it)!

I like that design, I think I'm just gonna ghetto adapt it, I.e...Cut out holes in the front section of the hood bump, rectangular sections, then put a grille over it. Shouldn't be too difficult.

xsciuga, if you wait a while, you might be able to by a perfesionally manufactured hood matching my drawing. wink-wink! so if you like the idea, just hold off and I bet you'll be glad you did.

If by buy you mean, 20$..Then I'm in..I'm poor dude. I'm a redneck in the essence of the word, it's not being a hick, it's being a broke guy who does nothing but fix crap. I got my stang car payment and insurance, dang, but throw out a price, if it's reasonable, I'd probaly do it..but I could do my idea for free lol.

hey icice9, yes basic theory similar, no, I've never seen that hood, yes, I wish you never showed me! his scoop cuts make an awesome hood look like a nose with uneven nostrils, Then the mesh squares at the front just flat out look like photoshoped duelly tire tread. Basically, function might be similar, but he can't design for ****.

hehe... any more insults?

I do think the hood is too busy, but never looked close enough to see the uneven cuts. The guy is really cool and has a good turbo engine under the hood.

Also, he had a hard top car and cut the top off, and welded on a T-top roof. Good work there. Strange how he kinda screwed up the air scoops.

Sorry bout the insults, bad morning. Woke up with my ZX missing , and a note from my mom that said "be back in 6 hours, went to see grammy." Grammy lives almost 200 miles north of me! WTF!

P.S. I will not retract any previos statement, but I should have worded them nicer

Hey ... Nismopick is about 40 minutes North of me ... lives near my grandparents. I've seen that car in person - trust me, that hood has more presence than those pictures justify. And yes, his car is stupid-fast compared to my Zed, whom has new-found spunk and power as of today! YAY! Alexandria is alive and well again!

Also if you take another look at my drawing, the whole front of the lump is a scoop, not two squares and also, instaed of mesh that everyone uses, their are horizontal fins that stagger/step down at the same angle as the stock hood. just wanted to clear that up, so no, it's not "just like" his.

I've been thinking about that the last few days.... I wonder how hard it would be? Also, are the windows the same size on t-top or non t-top?

I think it would be very hard. Yes the windows are all the same. You just have to know that the 2-seater had shorter t-top sections than the 2+2. So for you, do not get a 2+2 t-top roof.

If you notice, your window has no upper door frame so you're already set there.
What you should have done is buy yourself a 1982-83 t-top car and then get the V8 swap done in that!
