I need cup holders
What I have: '79 280ZX w/ black interior, factory center console
What I need: cup holders (2) that will fit a large McDonald's cup or equivalent; preferably a single-piece center console with cup holders that are positioned between the seats and behind the storage bin. I don't know if I what I described exists and I did some research but didn't find what I wanted. I found this but from the pictures it appears that it just rests on top of your center console. |
I'd go with something like this...

Cup holders.

You can find a cup holder at the Z store, but it won't hold a large Mc Donald's cup. You can also buy the collapsible individual cup holders that are installed permanently to the door panels.

Already have them and will fit any size! They are located in the center of the front seats where your legs meet. Gotta love the 80s no air bags, no cup holders not even a sat nav! Myself after dumping several drinks in my crotch.I now stop at sheetz to pick up a seal-able 20 oz drink then hit McDonald's . And order just the food. Other wise its the classy cup holder pictured above.

This is what i did. Just cut it with a hole saw. I figure that my armrest was already rough so a hole woundnt hurt it any haha. I cut mine to fit a regular energy drink can. |
Just moved my stereo, defrost, and +12 volt to the area my heater controls were (only my defrost has ever worked, so I didn't think twice about it). Used a plastic sheet to cover where the vents had been (installed just the defrost knob and +12 volt there, along with an indicator light), and took out the lip where the defrost had been and tossed in my head unit. The center area where the radio, +12 volts, and ash tray had been is removed. Thinking of putting some cheapie cup holders there...not sure if there's enough space for a large, though...
